Employer Checklist for Publishing a High-Quality Vacancy
Publish clearer vacancies with complete job details, realistic requirements and structured information candidates can understand before applying.
Use a precise job title and category
Choose a title candidates will recognize and place the role in the closest job category. Avoid promotional titles that hide the actual occupation. A precise title improves search, matching and candidate expectations.
- Use the occupation name candidates would search for.
- Select the correct country, city and category.
- Set the number of open positions accurately.
Write measurable requirements
Separate mandatory requirements from preferences. State the experience level, core skills, qualifications and language requirements that are actually necessary for the role.
- Specify years of experience only when they matter.
- List required skills individually where possible.
- Do not add unnecessary requirements that exclude suitable candidates.
Explain employment terms clearly
Provide salary information, working hours, contract period and benefits when confirmed. Clear terms reduce unsuitable applications and help candidates assess whether they can accept the role before progressing.
Review the posting before submission
Check employer branding, job details, closing date and contact workflow. AB Vacancy uses an admin review and publication process so public vacancies can be checked before they appear to candidates.
- Use the correct employer logo and company profile.
- Proofread the description and requirements.
- Update or close the vacancy when the hiring need changes.
